Things We DIY’d for Our Wedding

To keep our wedding budget on track, I tried to do as many DIYs as I possible. The ones I ended up going with saved us over $500 and worked really well for our special day. I’ll add some additional blog posts for some of the larger build items, but until then, check out the list below!

Invitations

If I had to describe our wedding theme, I would call it a black and white modern affair. I wanted the invitations to reflect that for a reasonable price. I sourced materials from Micheals, Paper Source, and AliExpress (wax seal and wax). They were simple but elegant! I made around 35 invitations.

Total Cost: $48 dollars

Products Used

Welcome, Bar, and Guestbook Sign

I loved incorporating lots of acrylic accents. Our rooftop wedding featured a glass enclosed reception area that tied the decor together really well. I used my Cricut machine make the lettering.

Table Numbers

This is an easy one. I ordered these 5×7 acrylic sheets from Amazon and found the wooden table number holders on OfferUp from another bride. I spray painted the holders black and they were perfect!

Wedding Arch

My husband built this awesome wedding arch for us. I love how it framed us on our special day. Choosing a dark stain really made the lush white and green florals stand out!

Total Cost: $0 (Less than $50 worth of materials)

Find out more about how we this Arch didn’t cost us anything in the video below!

Neon Sign Stand

We ordered a custom neon sign from Etsy that turned out great! We made the stand to hang it out of PVC pipe from Lowes. We spray painted it black and used plastic wire to secure it, then placed it in front of the view of the Washington Monument!

Total Cost:$28

Centerpiece Cubes

This centerpiece decor turned out to be such a nice touch. I painted the cube frames black and featured them on every other table.

Total Cost: $40

I also purchased a bunch of other items that weren’t DIYs but did helped cut costs.

  • Candle Holders
  • Pillar Candles
  • Wedding Guestbook Frame
  • Drink Stirrers
  • Votive Holders
  • Votive Candles
  • Easal

I hope this post gives you some inspo or ideas for DIYs and buys for your wedding! Please let me know if you have any questions.
