Our Hot Cocoa Bar Setup

It took me a little while this year to finish up my Christmas decor. There is a real adjustment to completing tasks when you have a baby. However long you think it will take to do something, add an hour! Despite it taking a while, I finally have the whole house holiday ready.

I’ve had a Hot Cocoa Bar on my list for Christmas decor for a few years now. I scrolled Pinterest for inspo and only found a few ideas, but enough to give me a base to go off of. I pulled together the things my husband and I like in hot chocolate: Cinnamon, marshmallows, and….more chocolate!

I’ve listed what we did for our layout and a few ideas below for building your hot cocoa bar!

Setup

I used a plain white cake plate I’ve had for a while as my stand. I also used a variety of containers to hold my mixers and toppings. The glass containers have wood and gold tones that compliment the theme of the overall decor.

For decor, I added a garland, twinkle lights, and taper candles. On the shelf, I added my full-bottle brush collection for a winter wonderland. For the last touches, we added a nutcracker and an oversized ornament taped on the top shelf!

I also decided to keep the main elements of my bar area intact: coffee, spirits, and wine glass storage. I love practical decor so I’d rather find a way to incorporate things that have a space there instead of trying to store them somewhere else temporarily.

Mixers

This is the best part of building a hot cocoa bar! We love adding a few mixers to jazz up our cocoa. Here’s a few of things we have and a few more you could add!

  • Mashmallows
  • Peppermints
  • Chcolate Chips
  • Sprinkles
  • Whipped Cream
  • Syrups (Brown Sugar, Hazelnut)
  • Chocolate spoons
  • Hot Cocoa Bombs

This turned out to be such a fun area of the house this Christmas! This is a holiday tradition we will continue!

Do you have a designated hot cocoa area? Let me know in the comments!
